Team Day Venue

So after a few weeks of head scratching, playing with ideas and bringing weeks and months of plans together, the schedule for the European Open (EO) Performance weekend is done and published.

I've actually enjoyed working on the schedule and very much appreciated the help from others. In fact I've learnt a couple of valuable lessons along the way. One in particular about reading feedback properly and understanding the persons view or position before jumping on the keyboard.

Last Sunday I visited a venue I'm going to use for a team day next year (27 May). The venue is the Equine centre at Nottingham Trent University. It has fantastic facilities and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to use it and work with the people there. The venue has everything I had hoped for to help prepare the team. Including a huge indoor arena, lecture rooms, plenty of parking and exercise areas, video analysis, seating etc. all set in a really nice environment.

If all goes to plan this will be a regular slot in the agility diary for the future squads.

I'm now pulling together various notes, ideas and past documents to plan the day - It's going to be along the lines of 'what makes a world class agility handler'. I welcome your thoughts and comments on this topic, what qualities do you think an elite dog and handler should have?

Confidence! And a belief that anything is possible for the handler :)

Definitely, two of the top areas sports people need to excel at. Thanks. :)
