Reading and Exercise
That was quite a successful weekend. Two books finished, one of which I would definitely recommend, Freakanomics, for anyone wanting to read something very different and fascinating. This book looks at some trends and beliefs of our times and then questions them and the supporting data. It's amazing and quite an easy read. Here's an advert for the book:
Which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool? What do schoolteachers and sumo wrestlers have in common? Why do drug dealers still live with their moms? How much do parents really matter? How did the legalization of abortion affect the rate of violent crime? Published in 2005,Freakonomics became an instant worldwide cultural phenomenon, and spent more than two years in hardcover on the N.Y. Times best-seller list. It has sold more than 4 million copies and has been translated into 35 languages.
We also had some great training sessions at home. Karen set up quite challenging handling exercises which got us working hard. I love this kind of training. Short, sharp, intense and focused. Very productive.
I also found time for the usual 'round the house' stuff which backs up during the week, so that was nice getting those jobs done and we even fitted in a bit of time to do a family visit. And .... I found enough diesel at our local garage to get me from home to Havant and then to Exeter for a few days. All I need to do now is find some to get home again.
The picture is one from our trip in Cornwall. Great one of the dogs...
